Tuesday Top Ten

Howdy Folks!

Today's Top Ten list has to do with books!  For the past 4 and a half years I have written down every book that I have read...cause I'm weird like that, so it was fun finding the 10 most interesting out of the bunch!  So, in no particular order, here are the:

Top Ten Books I've Read in the Last 4 Years

The Shack by William Paul Young - Great book!  Very religous tones, and all of you know I'm not religious one bit, but the story line and plot really kept me wanting to read more.  Not sure how much I believe in the spirituality of the book, but it is an amazing story and I can see how it's saved a lot of "believers" out there.

Harry, A History by Melissa Anelli - If you're a Harry Potter guru then you've got to read this.  Follows this lady around as she delves into the life of Harry Potter and picks apart just what it is that everyone loves about these books...plus she gets to meet JK Rowling...AWESOME!

Choke by Chuck Palahniuk - This guys mind is effed up!  But brilliant!  Most of the book has a story line, but really doesn't make too much sense about what's going on or where it's going exactly and the very end just blows you away.  They actually made it into a really bad movie...just read the book!

Without You by Anthony Rapp - For all the RENT lovers out there, this is a great book about being there for the beginning of this amazing journey.  Anthony Rapp takes you to auditions and showtime and you really feel like you're in the audience the whole time.

The God Box by Alex Sanchez - Teen book, but a great read.  Had an amazing sense about it.  Again, not religious, but this author makes us believe that the bible is accepting of me (heehee!)  Very interesting view into what's supposed to be very negative against homosexuals.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - Wasn't sure about this when BFJ said to read it, but so glad I did!  No being made into a major motion picture, I'd suggest reading the book first (it won't take long) because you really get a sense of how crazy this world is and you get to do it in your own mind first!

Push (Precious) by Sapphire - Can't believe this story could ever happen to ANYONE.  So sad, so real, so mind-blowing.  Not only does the book capture you with the first few words, the performances in the movie were outstanding!

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd - Heartwarming story that made me cry (both book and movie)  How could you not love this story?  Seems to be the secret life of others too.

Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk - Another book by the mad man.  A bunch of different stories brought together and seriously leaves your mind haunted.  This dude's mind is out there!

The Know-It-All by AJ Jacobs - Very fun guy who will do anything to write a book!  This guy reads the entire encyclopedia and documents it and writes a hilarious documentary about his findings.  His poor wife puts up with his shenanigans too.  Best parts come from her!

I hope this inspires you to get out and read.

Have you read any of these?
