So, here's a cute story for you all today. I hope this makes you smile and possibly bring a tear to your eye!

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups and set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of a little boy. "Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies." "Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, "These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money." The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?" "Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle.. "Here, Dolly!" he called. Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up... "I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would." With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands." With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup. Holding it carefully he handed it to the little boy. "How much?" asked the little boy. "No charge," answered the farmer, "There's no charge for love.."

I hope you enjoyed that story. I must admit that a tear came to my eye both times I read it today! Well, it's almost the weekend and you know what that means: I might not write again until Monday, so I have to leave you with lots of lovin'. Tomorrow I have another softball tournament. I enjoy playing, but we have to play the exact same teams we played in the last tournament. I just wish she'd mix it up a bit! I secretly kinda wanna lose 2 games right away so that I don't waste my whole day at the fields. Well, I guess it's no secret now! Sunday morning I am Running for the Zoo. A 10K at 7am...I've had lots of good runs this week so I'm hoping that I won't completely suck it up! My pace will obviously slow down a bit, but maybe I will surprise myself!! I'll be sure to let you know how I did next week.

The temperature dropped in our house last night so it got pretty cold during the night. When that happens the dogs like to sleep in the bed where they can generate more heat from our human bodies. They also like to sleep in between us, so they steal all the covers from me and the GF, which means we freeze all night long. And because I'm so lazy, I never wanna get up to turn on the heater, nor do I even wanna roll over to ask the GF to do it. So, needless to say, we both slept pretty horribly last night.

I'm really ready for the weekend too. It's been the LONGEST week for me. I've had loads on my mind, I've been going to my last classes, I've been working on my final reviews and homework and papers, I've been busy at work trying to get crap done (which didn't happen), I've been dealing with office drama all week, and I've been working out consistently too. So, the weekend is a blessing right now. Regardless of what I may do this weekend, I'm glad it's here. I hope you all have a great weekend too.

Don't be so weak!

Have you ever told yourself you weren't gonna do something, but then the urge inside of you just keeps picking at you until you finally give in and do it? I'll admit that it's happened to me on many, many occasions. For instance, a long running example: American Idol sucks real bad this year. There's not great talent and I'm pretty sure nobody really cares about the outcome. I've complained every night that they waste too much of my time with filler when they could really just announce the eliminated contestant in 10 minutes. I ask myself why I watch it knowing that I'm wasting my time on the less than entertaining contestants, but there's something inside me that keeps me coming back each week...twice! I tell myself, after 9 seasons, this is it...but if it came on next year, I'd probably watch it! Besides, Ellen Degeneres is on now and she says the funniest shit! But really, this can be a serious problem...not being able to hold your ground. Why are we so weak sometimes? At least I am!

Well, all of my class lectures are officially over! All I have now are 2 finals and 2 small papers. I've already finished the review for my final next week, I'm hoping to be half-way done with the papers by tomorrow night, and I'll have a full week to finish homework and studying for the last final. I have even purchased the first study guide for the first part of the CPA Exam. It's like I'm all focused now. Please forget that last sentence as you are not allowed to use it against me at any point in the future (especially the GF)!! Anywho, it's getting all so real now and I'm way way excited!

My seester decided to get this jobby job thing, which means that sometimes on Wednesdays I don't have to take her to class. Well, that happened yesterday and I was real sad. We get about a good 20 total minutes to talk about stuff and I didn't get that yesterday, so I feel incomplete this week. Instead, I went to the gym and ran 5 miles, so I guess that was good, but I still miss her! SEESTER...come back to me!

This time around, try to hold your ground. Stay strong!

Ho Hum...

Hello! Today is very blah! I've got things weighing heavily on my mind. Nothing for you all to be worried with. Let me tell you what happened last night in class. So, my professor decided that he is going to cancel class next Tuesday! Woohoo...but wait! Instead of class, we have 2 small papers to turn in by Tuesday, both dealing with derivatives...that's right, I'm speaking a foreign language here in my blog...derivatives. Most people think "yucky" when they hear that word, most others think "huh?", but I think "WHY, WHY, WHY"? There's only 2 weeks of school left and we were progressing so well, then we have to spend all last night talking about derivatives. It was as if I'd accidentally walked into an Advanced German class cause I really had no clue what he was talking about...which should translate well onto paper to be turned in. On the bright side, there is no class next week, leaving only one more class session in 2 weeks which is our final exam!! For my other class, we meet tonight and then have the final for that one next Wednesday!! So, it's all coming to an end! Just a bit more studying and then I can relax for a while. Read something other than financial accounting or derivatives!

If you remember back to February 25th, you'll recollect that it was the first time I'd ever taken a shower at the gym. As mortified as I might have sounded, I'd like to admit now that I've probably showered at the gym almost everyday now for the past 2 to 3 weeks! I'm still quite uncomfortable with all the naked women and the lotion putting and the walking around free, and I'm still quick as can be just getting my business done and averting my eyes the whole time, but I can honestly say it's not terrible anymore. It actually leaves me feeling quite fresh at work for the rest of the afternoon. And then I don't have to bother my coworkers by showering in their offices!!

I hope you are having a better day than me!

My Yin to Your Yang

Well, it's day 69 folks! Can you believe it? 2 months from today I will be done with the race! Apparently I'm supposed to visualize finishing the race and it'll motivate me to run hard since I know I'm already done running...or something like that! But really, I only have two more months to turn my mileage on high speed! I can do about 4 miles comfortably now, so we'll see how I feel in a month from now!

So, yin and yang...two things that always seem to go together. If you ever come across a 'yin' you'd be sure that somewhere nearby a 'yang' is hanging out! It just makes sense. I don't know why and I don't know the stuff behind the whole idea of yin yang, but I like the symbolism it has. What are things in your life that resemble the yin and the yang symbolism I've mentioned here "two things that always seem to go together"? Is it the salt and pepper on your kitchen counter? Or the wine and cork screw on the bar? What about the razor and soap in your shower? Maybe it's the shirt and tie in your closet? Or even the dog and other dog who run around the house all day? Whatever it is, I'm sure there's something in your life that represents the yin yang symbol. I, unfortunately, have lost my yang...

So, the GF is cleaning out the attic and came across my newest prized possession. A mint condition January 1995 edition of Playboy magazine with Drew Barrymore on the cover AND she's also the centerfold! That's right! Don't be jealous and don't try to figure out why it's been locked away in the attic for so long, but did you hear that I just said DREW BARRYMORE??!!!!! That's right! She bares it all for me in this magazine and I couldn't be happier! I've always been a big fan of hers and now this! Lucky me!!

Stay focused today, cause you don't know what'll come up tomorrow!!

Find Someone to Trust

Are you the type of person that bundles all this stuff up inside? Then you fester on certain issues, but you don't share this pain with anyone else? Then one day it all hits the flood gates and you have an outpouring of emotion? Well, I've always been that type of person. I keep all this bad stuff bottled up inside me, so others will still see the smile on my face not knowing that deep down I'm a balloon just ready to burst! I did it a lot in high school trying to keep my home life separate from my school life, but in the end, after the flood, I would always get mad at myself for holding it all in. But I didn't trust too many people in high school. Since then, my trust issues have gotten loads better and I've actually found people that I can talk to so I've never had to bottle up any issues since then. It makes for a clearer head and I have a little more focus than I did back then. It helps to have a clear head when you're trying to finish school and actually have good enough grades to graduate!!

Well, I hope I didn't worry you because my head is exceptionally clear now. Clearer than it's probably ever been. I have someone in my life who I trust completely. I've come to a point in my life where I've realized that everything I've done in life has led me straight to her and I couldn't be more happy! So, thanks!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Went to the gym to do my long run on Saturday and ended up doing my short run instead. Nothing was aligned or clicking and 6 miles quickly turned into 2 miles plus another 2 miles that I had to somehow muster the strength and energy to finish before I got off the treadmill! But momma said there'll be days like this...there'll be days like this my momma said! Today was a bit more graceful as I hit 3 miles as regularly scheduled. Maybe I shouldn't have so many off days in one week!!

In 3 weeks I am going to be a new person, so I'm changing some things in my life. I'll let you know when I get around to doing anything, but for now, just know that I'm (going to be) a changed woman. Love you all!

OH MY GOSH! How could I almost publish without telling the highlight of my weekend (especially since I've already told you the lowlight)!! So, for my friend's birthday we went to play BINGO!! There were 7 of us in our little group, so I thought the odds of at least one of us winning a game were pretty high!! And I was right! The GF won a $25 game! YAY! But wait...she didn't yell "BINGO" in time so they called the next number and that $25 sadly went to someone else! No worries, we gave her $25 worth of crap for missing out and you should too!!

Hope you're not having a case of the Monday's!

A Nice Bottle of Wine

So, I am not motivated today! There...I've said it! I would rather be at home in bed with a nice bottle of wine then be here at work any longer. My GF isn't here and other than Canadian Becca the rest of the office is in the pits, so it's depressing me! I may head straight to the liquor store after work! I think it's because the weather is so gloomy, my body is a little sore, I'm really tired, and I just wanna nap with the GF (and a good bottle of wine)! I've been on a red wine kick lately, so if you have any suggestions, let me know! I'm more of a jammy not too fruity red zin type just so you know.

Well, another week down. 3 more weeks of school and 5 more actual classes. I can't believe it's almost here. My biggest decision now is what shirt I'm going to wear under my gown! I'm more excited about my graduation than I let on to my classmates, and I'm pretty sure I'm more excited than my classmates that are also graduating! This is a HUGE moment in my life and I'm quite proud of myself. Okay, enough about that.

Did you think about your recipe yesterday? I was thinking about it after I blogged and was pondering "who" might have added each ingredient. For instance, who added the 'funny'? Who added the 'athleticism'? I'm not sure which of my parents was the athletic one, but I only know my mom to be a big football fan and I'm sure she was the one that added the 'fanatic' to my bowl. I also was wondering what possible ingredients I've added to anybody else's bowl? Like my GF, I'm pretty sure I've added stuff to her mixture that you just couldn't possibly find in the small Missouri town she grew up in! And she'll be the first to tell you about the few things I've had to take away from her mixture too!

Anywho, it's the weekend and you all know how good I am about writing on the weekends, so if for some reason I don't see you until Monday, have a great weekend! What are your plans? Anything fun? One of my best friends' birthday is tomorrow, so we're gonna get her all drunk and go hit the club scene! Just kidding! She doesn't drink and we don't do clubs! So Bingo and a cookout seem about right! Today is Neko's birthday...she one of my puppy's. She's one year old and still acts like she's 2 months old sometimes. Silly dog!

Try to look on the bright side of'll make you happier!

The Recipe of Life

Do you ever wonder what your personal recipe is? Like, what were the specific ingredients used to make you? Well, we all know the obvious things our parents contributed to make "us" happen, but I'm talking about what makes up YOU, your personality and such. Each one of us is so different from the next, but yet we are still similar in many ways. For instance, I'm pretty sure somebody dumped a whole bucket of 'funny' in my mixture, a dash of wit, a cup of intelligence, some athleticism, some laid back attitude, a tiny pinch of anger, a whole bunch of determination, a little bit of procrastination, a heaping scoop of beauty, and not so much attention span! There's lots of other stuff in my mixing bowl, but this was just a beginning. There's just so much stuff that goes into who we are today.

And at some point in our lives, we may choose to not use some certain ingredient anymore and someone may introduce us to a new potion. Otherwise, our mixture just shakes up every morning and we become Roshelle Recipe! Or whoever you are Recipe! Since this is my blog I can use whatever ingredients I want in my personal recipe.

Who are you?

My Fellow Followers

Hi to the 9 of you that read my blog. Today was my rest day so no big gym stories. I'm a tad sore from yesterday's class, so I guess the butt-kicking paid off! I got to view my test finally in class last night and I made a lot of stupid mistakes. Those really piss me off more than not knowing the answer. Because I know the information, I just do something silly! Oh well, it's over and I won't have to know that information again until the CPA, which is approaching soon, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!

I saw a really good friend last night and she looked great, as usual! I just wanted to give her a little shout out so she can feel even more special! Miss you buddy!

I think it's tattoo time! I've been thinking a lot about it lately and I'm ready to go under the needle again! I'll probably get some old stuff worked on for now, until I decide where I want my new tat to go. I already have something in mind to honor my Granny, all I need is a place to put it! Do you ever have weird cravings like this? Where you really want something, but you're not sure about it? It could be something small like a new backpack or new shoes or a new shirt, or it could be something big like a tattoo or a trip to Vegas or even a new tv. I go through phases, and I know the GF does too, so I'm taking this one into my own hands and I'm just gonna schedule some time to get my tat worked on: Done!

I hope you do something crazy too!

I missed you...

So, you all thought I'd stop at 100, did you? Nope! Sorry, you're wrong! I just had a very relaxing Sunday, followed by a very busy Monday, but I'm back and I've missed you. Saturday, we ended up playing 6 softball games and taking 2nd place. The winning team, who beat us twice, were apparently playing in the World Series, so our team was on a completely different page, which is probably why we had fun losing (well, most of us)! But it was good to be back on the field. I made a couple great catches and hit a couple bombs, so I was excited! And the weather was perfect! I know I mentioned it before, but it was awesome. It was also perfect weather for the baseball game on Sunday. It started raining the minute the game was over, but it sure was perfect baseball weather. The sun has also decided to grace us with it's presence today, so it's lovely outside and here I sit inside at work...poop! Oh sun, how I've missed you.

Today is my parent's wedding anniversary! They haven't been married for about 27-28 years now, but how nice to think about it! I was never old enough to even remember them married! I really don't remember much back when I was little, but I also don't remember much now-a-days. Oh memory, I miss you!

This afternoon at the gym we did a "body pump" class in the aerobics room. I have yet to take a class at the gym since they've remodeled like 5 years ago, but the GF wanted a partner today so I went. It wasn't the worst class ever, in fact it was quite alright. I don't have much upper body strength and we had to keep lifting this barbell up and down and up and down! Kicked my butt. The whole time I was thinking to myself that I could've been upstairs running my speed workout, but instead I was doing lunges, squats, and shoulder press. Running, I missed you! Tomorrow will be my rest day, and I'll probably be sore, but I guess it's always good to work on other muscles.

Have a great Tuesday!

The Crazy Woman in Me!

Congratulations to me! This is my 100th post! I don't receive anything for posting that much, but look at me, I'm unstoppable, and it's also Saturday and I don't seem to blog much on Saturdays!

Well, the rainy weather has stayed at bay and it's been a very very sunny day. In fact, my softball tournament has had wonderful weather so far. Whoever said it was supposed to rain was lying! So our first tournament of the year and I was a little nervous because I've changed my stance and swing. I still can't throw, but I can catch (sometimes). Anyway, we have already played 3 games and we have yet to lose, so for some reason everyone has shown up to play some softball today. Here's where the crazy woman came out: Our first game was at 9 and our second game was at 11. Since our third game wasn't until 3 I rushed home and did my long run for the week which was 4 miles. Then I rushed back and played our 3rd game. The girls on my team thought I was some crazy person because I ran 4 miles between softball games! Maybe I am, but why should I alter my training schedule just because I have softball? I actually left off the 5th mile because I figured playing at least 5 softball games in a day and having to run out and back from right field every inning, I would pick up my last mile with that. Plus, my new swing is working pretty well, so I've had quite a few trips around the bases too!!

I hope you find a way to push yourself a little extra this weekend too.

What the Future Might Hold

Good afternoon! The weather is okay today...just okay. Yesterday was perfect: all sun, all day, no clouds, no wind, slight breeze just at the perfect moment. Today it's cloudy in parts, windy all over, but mostly sunny and warm...the only problem: there's a thunderstorm on the way. What would really be silly is if it cancelled my softball tourney by any chance. That would be the same tourney that was cancelled a few weeks ago from snow, then there's been perfect weather for 3 weeks, and it could get cancelled from a rain storm again. Oh weather! Yesterday was also the last day to submit your 2009 taxes without filing an extension, so I hope you all were responsible enough to get those in. I would've said responsible Americans, but I have a Canuck on my blog-roll, so I gotta stay neutral!!

So, I've been thinking a lot about the future lately. It's possible that I'm realizing that I'll be graduating in 4 weeks (29 days, but who's counting?), and I need to figure out what I want to do when that happens. First off, I'm not doing ANYTHING (other than work of course) from then until the end of June, when we'll be going on my Graducation! Once home, I'll probably be ready to start getting into something new by the end of July-beginning of August. SO, what next? Well, I am going to start studying for the CPA Exam...that's 4 parts that you study for independently which could possibly take about 2 to 3 months per section. My whole purpose for this Master's Degree is to hopefully one day become a teacher at the college level and teach Accounting courses to mainly intro level kids. So, I'm thinking of applying to our local community college for that purpose real soon!

Other than career type future moves, my personal life has a future too. The GF and I are about to celebrate 5 years together! We've taken some ginormous steps together over the past year too, like buying a house, raising 2 dogs, and practically working together now!! Things are great in that department. My brother and sister have a beautifully healthy baby boy and real smart(ass) daughter! They're both going back to school and other than the paper writing, and the schedule organizing, and the test taking, I'm pretty sure they're finally happy and content with how things are going in their lives right now! They've got so much family support that they can get through practically anything these days! My mother can walk again, and that's just a miracle in itself. It wasn't easy at times (actually the whole time she couldn't put weight on it, she was miserable)! But she's getting around good these days (well, better than a month ago!!). So, who knows what the future is holding for me, I'm just glad I have what I have in my life today!

Love you guys!

I almost forgot a title!!

Good Afternoon! And I mean is a good afternoon. The sun is shining, the wind has died down, I've gotten in a (semi)good workout, I'm eating some fruit, and school is over for the week! My GF has even put in some extra face time this week, so that makes me VERY happy!

So my computer does this really annoying thing every once and again where the screen locks up and stops me from typing, so I have to use the mouse to go to where I've left off and click to unlock the screen. Now, that's okay on like a cell phone so you don't call China by accident, or even on the computer when you have a young child by you and you don't want them to start typing random stuff. But it's literally locked up on me 3 times already just typing this one paragraph and it's really frustrating. If I'm in the flow of something, I don't wanna have to stop to click the mouse again. But it's weird cause it only happens on random days. Luckily not every (4 times) day! Enough ranting about that!

So, I have a softball tournament this Saturday. I don't remember if I mentioned it a (5 times) few weeks ago, but the softball tourney that we were supposed to have got snowed out, so this weekend is our next tourney. It's double elimination, but if we kept winning we could literally play until 9pm. I love softball (6 times) and all, but I really don't wanna be playing all day long. Sunday is a day game for the Topes, so that's gonna be really exciting. I love sitting in the sun...hopefully (7 times) there will be sun...but I love watching baseball in the sun. It's like free entertainment while you tan! And I love to tan!

Well, I hope you all have fun in the sun this weekend (8 times)!

Exhaustion is setting in

I'm tired! Not gonna lie...real tired. I'm pretty sure it's because I've been working out, I've been sick, I've been stressing over school, I've been studying for tests, I've been working, I've been staying up late, I've been getting up early, I've been playing, and I've been living my life! All those things together can make you very tired. Some like to say it's burning the candle at both ends. Others like to say I'm crazy. I just like to say I'm tired...real tired. But when I look at from afar, I don't really see my situation changing any time soon. I still have 2 more tests to study for and school to stress over for 5 more weeks. I have to get up early everyday to come in to work, and I'm gonna keep working out. Maybe I should try not to stay up so late and find a way to sleep consistently through the night.

Are you addicted to tv? I am and so is the GF. We pretty much watch every show there is! We have shows every night on every channel in every time slot that we will record and watch together. If we're lucky, we'll have about 2 or 3 shows to watch every night because they build up and we can choose from a handful to watch. Sometimes 2 or 3 of the same show will pile up so it's like a mini marathon when we decide to finally watch it! Plus, having DVR is a must, because you can fast forward through all the commercials...although it can become quite disappointing when you're watching a show in "real" time and you try to fast forward through the commercials and nothing happens! Anyway, we love to watch tv!

Let's all nap!

55 Days and Running...

So I saw an old friend at the gym this afternoon and she said I was working out like a crazy person "all gung-ho"! All she saw me doing was these ab-roller like things, she just happened to catch me on my 9th and 10th rolls on my 3rd set, so I was maybe silently cussing under my breath and sweating profusely. I could have looked "all gung-ho" but I was definitely glad it was over. This "old friend" was a girl I used to babysit my freshman year of college. That was in 1997...13 years ago, when she was 9. Now she's 22 and I'm almost 32, so really I looked "old"...that's all, just old!

But, when I think about it, I'm not old, I'm only 31 years and 10 months. That's young! I'm only a 3rd of the way to 'old' and that still puts me younger than my Granny! So, I celebrate my age. Most of you aren't surprised when you here this from me because you know how much I LOVE my birthday, which is right around the corner! So, mark your calendars!!! But let's not jump the gun on that yet, cause Graduation is much much closer. Tonight I will find out about last weeks test, so cross your fingers that I still have a chance at that much awaited graduation! I know that sounds silly cause I'm sure I'll graduate, but there's always that tiny tiny Horton Hears a Who speck of a chance that I could really fu** it all up and not get to walk the line! But I only have 5 weeks left, so how bad could I do in 5 weeks??

GLEE is back tonight FINALLY! Enjoy!

What is Today Anyway?

Well, it's Monday, that's for sure! And I'm pretty sure I have a case of the Monday's. I had no clue why my alarm was going off this morning. I really thought it was still the weekend and was upset upon the realization that I had to get up and get ready for work. Once I walked in to the office I immediately became tired! Like I hadn't rested all weekend, although I had a well rested weekend! And then, THEN, my boss arrives at 9am! WHAT?!?! He never gets here before 10am, so I had to listen to his shenanigan's (my word of the day) ALL morning long. Poor Becca at work was catapulted into doing work right away this morning (not to mention again that it IS monday), so I'm sure she was not very pleased either! I went to the gym at lunch, but now I'm back here at work doing everything I can to just get through the day. I'm gonna go run some errands in a bit, to cut out some time in the day. Then tonight is the Isotopes home opener...might be a bit windy, but it's gonna be fun, fun, fun!!

Today is April 12, 2010. There are 2 birthdays on my personal calendar, but some notable famous people who were born today are David Letterman, David Cassidy, Andy Garcia, Shannen Doherty, and Claire Danes. What's unfortunate is today is the day Franklin D. Roosevelt died 65 years ago. I have a picture in my loft of my Granny with Eleanor Roosevelt, the better half, and is rumored to be part of my "family" if you know what I mean! It's also the beginning of the last 5 weeks of school! Now that is exciting! And today's inspiration is "what works for someone else may not work for you." Let's let that marinate...

Today is also Day 54! That's right, I'm creeping upon the 2 month mark and I've got just over 2 months to go! Among that 54 days, 2 weeks were devoted to sickness, approximately 2 weeks were devoted to rest days, so that leaves about 3o+ days for workouts! I said earlier how I went to the gym at lunch today, well my actual "race plan" started today and I was scheduled to run 3miles. After running 8miles total this weekend, I almost wanted to not go, but I went and knocked out 3miles quite nicely! It helped to be watching The Dark Knight on HBO while I did it too! And it was my fastest time yet. I should start quickening my pace if I want to finish within my goal time!

I hope you have a good today!

On the Up and Up?

Where did this come from? Who was the first person to say, "I'm on the up and up."? Does it even make sense? What doesn't make sense is that it is 80 degrees upstairs in my house and it's 9pm at night! But, regardless of the saying, I am feeling a lot better today than I have all last week. Unfortunately I have to go to work tomorrow, so maybe I don't feel all that well anymore!! Just kidding! This weekend has been marvelous! I'm back to running! I did 4 miles yesterday and today! My foot is not hurting today! I won't make a larger statement than that. We had a small cookout with the family today and the weather was perfect, the food was amazing, and the company was fun as always. You really never know what my niece is gonna say next! One moment she was telling me about a pink tiger and the next she was showing me her auntie chicken ring! Smart little girl!

I'd like to thank my brother again for grilling. I'd like to thank the GF too for grilling when she knows that I don't do that stuff! I just assume she'd do it, which she would and she's good at, but then I made my bro do it cause he was able to come over today, so thank you to the both of you. If that made any sense...

Anyway, back to the grind tomorrow and back to the working out! I'm happy to be running again. I'm happy to be hanging out with my most favorite people in the world! If it weren't for my family and my GF who knows where I'd be! They are the most amazing people in the world. they've gotten me through a lot of hard times in my life and a lot of good times too! I love you all so much! There's nothing like a happy day to get you to reflect on your life and really know what's most important to you! Thanks!

Completely Drained

Well, my big test and quiz are over! I'm sick and I haven't been working out. It's been a really really really really long week and I am completely drained. All I did at the beginning of the week was study for my test, then I had my foot problems, and then I got sick, so I haven't been into the gym all week. It's a bummer, but I'm hoping the rest will give my foot some time to feel better and my body some time to recoop! Then I'll be back to my miles and miles of running. The weather is also getting better, so hopefully I can do some outside runs soon! I still feel like I can catch up on some sleep too. Maybe a relaxed weekend will really help a girl refocus!

Sorry I didn't write yesterday. I was extremely exhausted and felt like a big pile of poop. But I'm sure we've all had those days before. The GF had the grill going when I got home though, so the pups and I sat outside with her while she cooked dinner. It was a perfectly relaxing evening after such a long week. Thanks babe!

Maybe I'll write more later, but I'm gonna go for now.

Why Me?

So, I'm getting sick again :( Actually, I am already sick. Yesterday I had an itchy scratchy throat in the morning, by 3pm my nose was stuffy, and by 8pm I felt really poopy! This morning I woke up and wanted to role right back into bed, but I've got lots to do today plus a quiz tonight on stuff I haven't studied. Speaking of which, let me tell you about last nights test. So, this class is 2 and a half hours long and we are allowed to take the whole time for the test. No matter what class I'm taking, whenever we have tests I'm always the first (or real close to first) one to finish...ALWAYS! Last night was no different, I was the very first one to finish at 7:45pm. This means I spent 2 hours and 15 minutes on the test, leaving only 15 minutes early from when class would be let out. Nobody seemed to be hastily moving toward the exit, nor did I see anyone behind me as we sped out of the parking lot. A half hour later I got a phone call from my friend who is also in the class and she said he had to cut off about 20 people because "times-up"! She didn't even have time to finish her last 2 problems! Here's the deal: he has 20 multiple choice questions, 4 short answer questions, 4 medium sized problems, and 1 very large problem. Most every single multiple choice needed a calculation as well as all the problems. We were constantly crunching numbers. I can see why this took everyone so long because what we are doing requires lots and lots of meticulous steps. If you mis-step, you can mess up the entire problem...NOT GOOD!

So, I finished my test, walked up to the front and turned it in, went back to my seat and put on my hoodie, packed up my backpack, went back to the front to turn in my homework, and left the classroom, and not one person had even stood up. One may think, "Roshelle, you totally rushed through everything and got everything wrong." Another may think, "Roshelle, you knew everything and knew exactly what the answers were." We will not know the fate of this test until next Tuesday (unless he posts the grades before that), but I'll be sure to keep you all posted to whether I rushed through it or not!

On to more important things, the weather! It is looking sunny sunny sunny here today and it only makes me want to feel better faster! Last time I was sick, the weather was disgusting, so it only made sense to want to sleep all day and night, well not this time. It makes me want to suck it back and enjoy this lovely day and the ones that come after it. It's perfect baseball watching weather, it's perfect shorts weather, it's perfect eat outside for lunch weather, it's perfect read a book on the back porch weather, it's perfect walk your dogs weather, and it's perfect lay out by the pool (or beach) weather. Everyone loves this kind of weather!

Enjoy your day, wherever you are or whatever you are doing!

Early to Rise

Well, I thought I'd write to you early today while I was thinking about it, because I might not have time later. Just an update, my foot is a bit sore from the shot, but I have high hopes that it's getting better AND I'm back in the gym this afternoon! Not running, but biking, and that's okay! Last night my boyfriend and his basketball team (Butler) lost the national championship game, but it was definitely a hard fought battle and great game! So, go Butler and good luck next year! I still hate Duke and the Yankees, who lost to Boston on the opening night of Baseball! So, now we all move over to baseball! Yay! But really it's just a nice pasttime til football starts!! NFL Draft is April 22-24...get ready!

Yesterday I was complaining about how I don't feel ready for my big test tonight...well, I'm almost there. The unfortunate thing is that I've spent so much time studying for this test that I've completely neglected studying for my quiz tomorrow night...uh-oh! Oh well, I'll worry about that later. I woke up today about 5:30am because I was dreaming about my test. I was working problems in my head while I slept! So, I got up and made some breakfast and hot tea and sat at the kitchen counter and studied for an hour. I think that's a really good time to study, I need to remember that! Very quiet! Very very quiet! I think it helped calm me about the test and I hopefully won't go in to it so stressed out...that just spells disaster!!

So, there's this douche bag who steals my parking spot everyday! I have been working at this office for 7 years and always park in the same spot...well, there are about 3 people who live across the street who feel like they should park there instead...UNACCEPTABLE! So, it's left me to park elsewhere and for the last few weeks that's what I've been doing and it's no fun. I want my space back. Yesterday I got it back for half a day, but this morning 2 other cars were there and the douche bag has stolen a co-workers spot now! Will he stop at nothing? He never goes anywhere, except yesterday he went to go do laundry and that's how I got my space back!! The GF suggested getting it towed, but I can't really do that legally, so I'll have to find a way to do it illegally! If we don't watch out, he's gonna start parking in our driveway...UNACCEPTABLE! I'm gonna invest in a few orange cones and start lining them up the street when they all move their cars, like some street crew is coming in, but secretly move them everyday when I need to park!!

Today, find a way to solve YOUR problems!!

Well, hello there!

Hello! Hello! Hello! I've been missing you! Sorry for not writing this Easter weekend, but I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and were able to relax a bit! I had a great weekend...probably should've studied more, but a great weekend nonetheless. Baseball is back, so I got to watch some games, Major Leaguers at that, and one of the days had great weather. The GF is regretting not having long sleeves! I got to see my niece and nephew both days and the whole family got treated to an awesome dinner last night by the momma. And the weather was beautiful both Saturday and Sunday. The Easter Bunny even found us at our new house! So, it was a very busy weekend indeed!

Now we're back in the grind...I've got lots of studying to do for a test tomorrow night and a quiz on Wednesday night. I don't feel as ready for these as I have been in the past for tests and stuff. There's just so much information that I need to know that I'm afraid I'm gonna forget it as soon as the test is in front of me! Everyone always says "you'll do fine", "just do your best". Well, thanks, but I think my best isn't convincing enough right now!

I had a foot scare. I didn't want to tell anybody until I had it checked out, but I've been having some nerve issues with my right foot and it's curbed my running for about a week and a half. I saw the doc today and he gave me a shot and hopes it'll help relieve some swelling and I might be running by the end of the week. I've already told myself that I'm crossing that finish line no matter what, so this may be a minor setback, but I'll be back up on that treadmill in no time! I'm really excited to run again because I'm getting sick of the bike! Anyway, no reason to worry about little old me, cause I'll be fine!

Have a great rest of your day!

What a Good Friday!

Well, I've been tired all week long and today is no exception. I wonder if I even sleep at all during the night. I just feel so drained by mid-afternoon that I'm not sure how I can keep going the rest of the evening, especially on days when I still have to go to class all night. And weekends don't help, because weekends are to use for all the things you can't do during the week, like movies, and baseball games, and television, and eating, and it's actually all the things you do during the week, just amplified. In other words, I don't sleep much on the weekends because I'm always doing something. I need to be more like my boss and take naps every afternoon!

Well, Ken Griffey Jr. is here! Not sure if he'll meet me, but I bet he wants to! The weather sucks and it won't get better by game time, so we need to bundle up. But it'll be good to be out watching baseball again...maybe having a brew...maybe have some laughs! The Isotopes season doesn't start for another week, but when it does, you might not be able to drag me away from the games. It's a whole different experience than watching baseball on tv, especially because you get to people watch! Oh, there are so many different walks of life at a baseball game and we all just sit back and watch each much fun!

So, after 88 total posts on my blog site, I've come to accept the fact that it's not gonna blow up on the internet like other blogs I see and read occasionally. The only people that read it are the ones who get it delivered to their inbox everyday, and I'm pretty sure there are a couple of you that don't read it then. So, to those that take the quick couple of minutes everyday to read my thoughts, "Thank you!" You are the ones that keep me coming back every day. Also, "Thank you," to the few that actually respond to my posts! It's great to here your opinions and ideas and comments on my blog. It keeps me motivated to continue blogging and writing and observing.

I hope you all have a Good Friday too!

April Fool's Day!

I hope somewhere out there you played a trick on someone today and you both had a really good laugh! Laughter is the best medicine. Sometimes it's the only thing that gets us through those really tough days. I've done it plenty of times before and I'll do it in the future! I love laughing anyway, so it helps! But, it's also okay to cry. Ask the GF, I am the most emotional person she has ever met. At any given moment she can look over at me on the couch and about 85% of the time I will have tears in my eyes! We could be watching a comedy, a drama, a romance, a shoot-em-up, or even a reality show and I'll find a moment that warrants some tears! It never fails. I'm an emotional mess when it comes to sadness, triumphs, ah-shucks, and even love!

I was all wound up this morning! I didn't want to get out of bed, I didn't wanna shower, I didn't wanna drive in to work, I didn't wanna work, I didn't wanna turn the heat down, I didn't wanna talk to anybody, I didn't wanna go to the gym, and I especially didn't wanna have a headache! But I did it all! And the best part was, after I got done working out, I felt relieved of it all. I was glad I had gotten out of bed, showered, came in to work, got lots of work done, and went to the gym. It's helping me relax more this afternoon. So, a BIG thank you to the GF for encouraging me to workout!

I need to really start thinking about this Race and what I'm going to wear! Am I gonna wanna wear a t-shirt or a tank top? Short socks or long socks? What color shorts? Should I match? Should I dye my hair? These are very important things to start thinking about. Please give me any ideas or suggestions you may have. It may be surprising to hear this, but, I wanna stand out!!
